Fellowship in Blood

MARANATHA indeed!

I see a time in the not-too-distant future when some of the divisions in Christ's body will *have* to take a back seat to our common trust in Jesus. In battling the injustice of Obamacare, I noticed that many other leaders of the church catholic stood with the Catholic church against the requirement that they pay for or provide birth control and abortion.

I am firmly convinced that this particular struggle is just a foreshadowing of what is coming. Christ will strengthen his church in the United States, and there is no surer way to do that than to test them in fire. I would hope we have learned something from our collective failure to stand together in Nazi Germany, and realize that when Christians are persecuted, the persecutors won't much care whether they're Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox or Lutheran or even Baptist ... because in all these churches they will find people who will worship only the Triune God and not the current cultural idol, and they will condemn those people.

At the risk of sounding melodramatic, when being a Christian becomes a death wish, is it really about who goes with you to church or who goes with you to heaven?
